The Greek language also holds an important place in the history of the Western world, with foundational texts in science, astronomy, mathematics, logic, philosophy, and the New Testament of the Christian Bible being written in this language spoken by at least 13.2 million people today across Greece, Cyprus, Italy and Albania.
